You step outside your closely-packed room
you peak outside your window
and espy the cerulean sky
you hear the melancholic dreamy jingle of the birds that turn your shades of grey to amber
you meet the bosky surrounding
and I’ve never been a Nemophilist,
but shouldn’t the sun rays filtering through the leaves of the tree make you one too?
Some may say that tranquillity is the best they’ll ever get
But for me, it’s the mellow touch of the exquisite breeze
you close your eyes
and the black screen in front of you starts flickering and coruscate into
something scarlet and paperwhite
and right before you start reminiscing to those the halcyon days,
you open your eyes so ethereally,
as if something is going to shut it right back in.
you then sight the limpid green trees balter
only for you to see,
as if it’s applauding you
for a prize you achieved.
The bard inside you
captures it all,
ere you could even feel something
your poesy is ready.
And then you see it all disappear,
you feel scandalized for no reason at all.
there’s nothing else left to do now,
it’s ephemeral
but real.
And I know that it all just seems so beautiful
to be true.
My hiraeth for this once in a thousand-lifetime experience
shall be eternal.
as you walk away,
you feel the vista whispering “adieu for now”
you feel a mixture of happiness and dolour.
perchance it will happen again
but for now,
let’s live in my fantasy
inasmuch as I swear, we’ll stay truly ecstatic there
